Whole30 Day 7:
Breakfast (pictured): Onions, carrots, zucchini sautéed in coconut oil, with 1/2 a sweet potato, 2 egg whites, and curry, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Delicious!
Lunch (pictured): Another glorious big, giant bowl of shredded carrots, cabbage, broccoli, ground beef, and red onions made in EVOO with 1/4 avocado on top. Handful of cashews while cooking—I ate so late (3:00) ! I was starving. Had some pineapple, a little later and half a cup of black coffee.
Dinner (pictured): Broccoli roasted with EVOO, garlic powder and black pepper; chicken cooked in EVOO with oregano, basil, black pepper, and some red pepper flakes; a salad of shredded carrots, broccoli, cabbage, an orange pepper, and a cucumber, tossed in coconut oil, with pepper and garlic powder (I couldn’t even finish this! When was the last time I couldn’t finish my meal?!).
Overall: Because I’ve been so upset about my face, and man, does it hurt, I decided to call the Dr and make an appointment to go back; I just felt like the meds weren’t working. Well, after hours of trying to actually speak to a nice human and get an appointment (I’ll skip over my utter frustration and panic), the Nurse Practitioner came in and was like “Your face is worse.” Yes, it is. So, she gave me a topical antibiotic, and a new pill to take. Oy vey. I just want this cleared up! (pictured: waiting for the Dr, me and my pox like face).
Luckily, I can’t tell you how much I love eating this way. I love my meals, I love cooking (for the most part, haha), I love eating again. I went a whole weekend without “cheating” or “justifying foods” (well, no need for parenthesis around that, I was indeed justifying eating Tate’s cookies and chocolate.). I got through my first weekend! This is feat. Now, if only I could drink more water and get my butt on the treadmill. Goals, goals.
Song of the Day: Julia Stone’s “The Memory Machine.” It’s sort of haunting and eerie, but it’s a gorgeous song. My favorite song of the day is The Grateful Dead’s version of Catfish John. I just love the groove!
